Upcoming LAPA Event:  Talk with
Alexander Chisholm Guibault

When: February 3, 2018 at 4pm

Where: American University's Spring Valley Building
4801 Massachusetts Avenue
Washington, DC 20016

Please RSVP to: president@lapa-ncr.org

Alexander Chisholm Guibault will share his story, Looking at My Past, I Found My Future. Alex spent his childhood on the streets of Guatemala and in state owned orphanages until, at age 19, he was adopted by Leceta and Jean Chisholm Guibault. Linked to this announcement are two articles about Alex in Adoption TodayA Place to Call Home and Alex's Journey.

Alex views his biography not from a stance of sadness, but from a point of strength and resilience. His story is compelling, thought provoking, and is being made into a full feature documentary, The Boy with No Name.

Alex’s 4pm talk will be geared more toward parents, our adult alumni members, and older children. While Alex speaks, we will have a supervised “hangout room” for younger children who want to play games, do arts and crafts, or simply reconnect with friends.

After Alex’s talk, we will gather for catered Peruvian chicken, sides, and fellowship with Alex and his mother, Leceta. There is no charge for this event, but we do ask that you email LAPA's presidents
, so that we can get an accurate head count for dinner. At dinner, we will ask for a voluntary cash donation to offset the cost of the food.

There is free parking garage under the building. The entrance to the garage is on
Massachusetts Avenue.

Non-members of LAPA are welcome to attend Alex's talk.
